Less watching. More doing.
Some Activities end. Some connections don’t.
The internet became very good at helping us watch what everyone else is doing. Happenous is interested in something else: helping you go and do something yourself.
What can I actually do today?
Most plans don’t fail because nobody wanted to go. They fail because the three friends who said “we should” never found a Saturday, or because the thing you wanted to try needs a fourth person, a court, a route, somebody who has done it before.
Meanwhile, a few kilometres away, somebody is already going. A Sunday ride. Doubles at the club. Coffee and sketching. A walk through the old town with a camera.
Happenous puts those two people in the same place. Someone hosts an Activity — a real plan, at a real place and time. Others ask to join. The Host says yes. They meet, they check in, they do the thing.
And then, over time, a second question: what could I become if I kept doing it? A regular at Sunday rides. The person who hosts the book club. Faster over 5 km than you were in March.

A few rules the product is built around.
-
Activity first
People meet around something specific — a ride, a match, a walk — not around a profile. There is no feed of strangers to scroll, and no follow button.
-
Showing up is the point
Check-in is the anchor. Reviews, Moments and Recognition come from having turned up, and nothing that claims someone was there is allowed to skip it.
-
Friendship is welcome, not required
Meet people, do the thing, go home — that’s a good outcome. Becoming Buddies is there if you both want it, and never pushed.
Recognition comes from behaviour
Badges are worked out from what actually happened, never handed out. No trust scores, no verification we can’t stand behind. A verified email is described as a verified email.
Doing it again matters more than winning
Competition is optional. The only boards are the people in one challenge — never everyone. Nothing rewards time on your phone.
No dark patterns
No fake urgency, no guilt copy, no artificial streak loss, no infinite feed. Notifications are for what you’re waiting on or what happened to your plans.
You don’t need more people to follow. You need something worth showing up for.

Starting in India.
Happenous launches in India, in twenty cities you can pick when you sign up. Times are in Indian Standard Time, costs are in rupees, and the rules we follow are India’s — including the IT Rules and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
What happens in each city depends on who hosts. The app is new; some cities will be quiet at first. Hosting is the fastest way to change that.
