Reporting something.

What to send, and where.

  • If you use Happenous

    Report it in the app, from the profile, the Activity, or by holding down the message. It’s faster, and the report arrives attached to the thing it’s about, which is what our moderators need to act on it.

  • If you don’t

    Email the Grievance Officer. Tell us what the content is and where you saw it, why it should not be there, and how to reach you.

  • If it’s about you

    Your photograph, your name, an account claiming to be you: say so plainly. We don’t need you to sign up to act on it.

  • 24hoursIntimate or impersonating content removedContent that exposes a person’s private area, shows them in full or partial nudity or in a sexual act, or impersonates them, including a morphed image.
  • 72hoursCommunity rulesContent reported under our community rules is acted on.
  • 15daysResolvedEvery complaint is resolved.

If you disagree with the outcome.

Two routes, and you can use either.

  • About content or your account

    Appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India, at gac.gov.in.

  • About your personal data

    Write to our Grievance Officer first, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act asks. If you are still unhappy, complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The Privacy Policy sets out what we hold and what you can ask for.

  • Tell us too

    Whichever route you take, let us know, so we can reconsider.
