How it works

From a plan on your phone to people you actually met.

Someone says what they’re doing and when. People nearby ask to join. The Host decides who comes, everyone meets, and check-in records who turned up. Here is one Sunday, start to finish.

GokulWants to ride more. Not alone.
AppuRides every Sunday. Hosts it now.

One Sunday, in eight scenes

  1. Thursday, 9:40 PM

    Gokul opens Happening.

He taps Weekend: a Sunday ride along the coast, about 6 km away, 7 going. It shows an area, not an address.

  2. Thursday, 9:44 PM

    He asks to join.

The ride needs a helmet, lights and a steady pace. Gokul ticks each one, adds a note and sends it.

  3. Friday, 8:05 AM

Appu accepts him into the Crew.

Appu reads the note and taps Accept. Now Gokul gets the exact meeting point and the Crew chat.

  4. Sunday, 5:15 AM

They meet. This part happens offline.

From an hour before, Activity Mode puts the meeting point, the Crew chat and “Running late” on one screen.

Two cyclists riding side by side down a wide, tree-lined road in the early morning.
  5. Sunday, 5:22 AM

    Gokul checks in.

Appu shows a code that changes every five minutes. Gokul scans it — even with no signal — and that’s the record he was there. Then the Crew gets one easy question to start on.

  6. Sunday, 8:10 AM

The ride ends. The good part doesn’t.

Everyone who checked in can review the people they rode with — three yes-or-no questions — and share Moments with the people who were there.

  7. Sunday, 11:30 AM

    Gokul and Appu become Buddies.

Gokul asks, Appu accepts. Neither had to — meeting people, riding and going home is a perfectly good Sunday.

  8. The next Sunday

    Appu sets Gokul a challenge.

Appu challenges Gokul: furthest ride this week. Track is optional, and only ever among people you know.
