Happening

Everything on near you. Pick one and go.

Happening is the tab you open when you want to do something. Runs, badminton, coffee, photo walks — what people near you are hosting today and this weekend, with who’s going, and when a place is the last one.

Four ways to look

  1. For You

Picked for you, with the reason why.

For You puts first what fits what you said you like, how near it is, and when it is. Every pick says why it’s there — “You like running · about 2 km away”. No black box: the same things, in the same order, for everyone who likes the same things in the same place.

  2. Nearby

    What’s close, closest first.

Nearby sorts by distance, from half a kilometre out to as far as you’ll travel. Sharing your location is optional: without it, Happening uses the city on your profile. Nobody else ever sees where you are.

  3. Today and Weekend

Free this evening? Or on Saturday?

Today is what’s still to come today. Weekend is Saturday and Sunday. Both go by India time, wherever your phone thinks it is, so “today” on the card is today in Chennai.

  4. The map

See it on a map. Roughly.

The map shows each Activity as an area about three kilometres across, not a pin — enough to know whether it’s your side of town. Drag it to another part of town, or another city, and it shows what’s on there. The exact meeting point is only for the people the Host has accepted.

What a card tells you

Enough to decide. Nothing it shouldn’t.

Every card answers the four questions somebody asks before leaving the house — and none of them gives away where a stranger will be standing.

  • What and whenThe category, the title, and two times: when to meet and when it starts.
  • Roughly whereA neighbourhood and how far away it is. Never a street address.
  • Who’s goingThe faces of the Crew so far, and a word when it matters: the last place, full, or on now.
  • Why you’re seeing itThe reason it was picked for you, in words — on every For You card.
Where exactly

The meeting point is for the Crew.

Browsing shows an area. Ask to join, the Host accepts you, and then you see the exact spot — along with the Crew chat to find each other on the day.

  • No exact points in HappeningCards, search and the map show a ~3 km area only.
  • The Host decides who comesNobody gets the meeting point without being accepted.
  • Your location stays yoursIt orders what you see, and it’s never shown to anyone. Turn on Nearby Buddies and Buddies who did too see only that you’re within 10 km — never where. Pause it, or hide from one Buddy, any time.

Your weekend doesn’t need another scroll. Let’s go for a run on the beach.

See what’s on this week.

Nothing near you yet? Host something — the first plan in a neighbourhood is how it starts.
